Jan. 18 fundraiser screening at Ojai Playhouse to benefit Ojai Valley News Foundation.
Ojai Valley News Publisher and OVN Foundation Director Laura Rearwin Ward said: “The film will mark the first community fundraising event for the Ojai Valley News Foundation 501(c)(3). The public and members of California’s independent newsrooms are invited. A short panel discussion will follow the movie. The day is special for me because it is also the first gathering of members of the California Independent News Alliance — a new group dedicated to promoting small independent news outlets throughout the state. So, with luck, I’m expecting downtown to be crawling with news industry folks that day.”
